Wednesday, October 13 FEI Dinner Meeting Speaker — Dennis R. Beresford former chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Our featured dinner speaker this month is Dennis R. Beresford who served as chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board from January 1987 through June 1997. He will share "FASB — Balancing Business and Public Interests" with our members as our dinner speaker. This is a great opportunity for us to hear first hand about FASB. Dennis is currently serving as an Ernst & Young Executive Professor of Accounting at the J. M. Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia. Prior to FASB, he was the national director of accounting stand-ards for E&Y. He graduated from the University of Southern California. Thanks to Jerry Ford for arranging for Dennis to be our presenter. We look forward to the excellent presentation of information that awaits us at the October FEI meeting. Technical Session Also on the evening’s agenda is our Technical Session, presented by Jefferson Welch, an executive advisor for the Center for Executive Options. He’ll cover "Executive Coaching and Leadership Development". Coaching is designed for strengthening the performance of top-level executives. It addresses the unique development needs of leaders who have — or will have — significant influence over the future of the organization. Come hear about the leadership and management skills required for long-term success. __________________________________

It’s that time of year when FEI encourages all our members to extend a personal invitation to other senior level financial executives to be our guest and experience first-hand the benefits and rewards of local and national membership in FEI. New members experience the greatest benefits when they join at this time of year. We need everyone’s help in introducing FEI to fellow financial professionals. Please invite prospective member guests to attend a meeting with you. Questions regarding membership should be directed to Kevin Ryan, our Membership chair, at 602/906-9254. A special thank you to the sponsors of our CPE program that was held on September 22 — Arthur Andersen, Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. |

And last, but not least, a special expression of gratitude to Craig Lindsay for his work on sponsorships and for serving FEI as our webmaster. Thanks, Craig, we appreciate you. See you at the meeting — Tom |
