Tuesday, September 14 FEI Dinner Meeting featuring Bob Worsley President and CEO of SkyMall Our inaugural meeting to kick off the 1999-2000 season for FEI features Bob Worsley, founder, CEO, and President of SkyMall. Bob will speak to us on "SkyMall – Then and Now". SkyMall is best known for its in-flight catalogues on major airlines such as America West, Delta, United, Southwest, and more. They even have a trial run with British Airways. SkyMall is an integrated e-commerce company. In 1991 their total revenue was $5.4 million; in 1998, it was $66.3 million. They went public on December 11, 1996 and are traded on the NASDAQ under SKYM. You can preview SkyMall on the web at skymall.com or check out their newest venture at skymalltravel.com. Bob is a very dynamic speaker, so make your reservations early to attend — and bring a guest. Bob was recently voted Ernst & Young’s Arizona Retail Entrepreneur of the Year. Our technical session, presented by John Balitis, Jr. from Fennemore Craig, will focus on Employment and Securities Law Issues Related to the Internet. John’s primary practice is in labor and employment law, representing employers in arbitration, litigation, and administrative proceedings. We all need to be current on issues involving the Internet. Be sure to make your reservation and join us for dinner and a superb program on Tuesday evening, September 14th. Bring a guest or prospective member, too, and share this dynamic evening! __________________________________ Please call in a reservation to the FEI office so that it is received before noon, Friday, September 10. Annual Dues now Due |
Meet our speaker, Bob Worsley |
Recently we mailed members their dues renewal notices with a copy of the information currently held in the database. When we receive this information, we update the database; when we receive dues, we mark you as paid and eligible to be included in the annual AzFEI directory. Please remember to send us your area code. Please return your member update form as soon as possible and your dues payment with a copy of your invoice (even if that is later) so we can list your information correctly in this year’s directory. Thank you. |
Before founding Skymall, from 1985 to 1989 Mr. Worsley was a principal for ExecuShare, Inc., an executive services firm that provided time shared financial executives for small companies. From 1980-85 he was an accountant with Price Waterhouse where he held the position of audit manager. Bob’s bachelors degree in accounting is from BYU (1980) and he has a CPA designation. He recently addressed the United Nations and participated in a program through the Grameen Foundation that assists impoverished workers in underdeveloped countries such as Bangladesh. |
